Welcome to the Homes On The Sunshine Coast Blog
As I drove in to the office this morning I was awed by the sunrise and the beauty. When I drive to the office from home the ocean is on my right and this morning it was so flat that it looked like smooth glass. The sky was blue and pink and white and that combined with the beauty of the ocean and the Islands made it was of those 'wow' moments. A great way to start the day.
There is news in hot of the press this morning from the BCREA (British Columbia Real Estate Association) regarding buyers, interest rates, and the possible end coming to the 'buyers' market'. Here is the news from this morning:
"August home sales posted the first month-to-month increase since March of this year,” said Cameron Muir, BCREA Chief Economist. “Lower mortgage interest rates and an improving labour market are inducing additional consumer demand."
"The number of new residential listings in the province has fallen 30 per cent since April,” added Muir. “With fewer new listings, total active listings are now on the decline, signaling that an end to the buyer’s market may be on the horizon."
We have been saying for a while that the prices and availability of homes on the Sunshine Coast put the 'buyer' in a positive position to buy and the sellers often into a position of negotiation. This is still valid and the time is still good to move forward as a buyer. Don't wait too long though as times change and hindsight can be a costly lesson.
We look forward to talking with you, answering your Real Estate questions, and helping you to reach your Real Estate goals.
